Tara McDonnell is a dedicated Child Therapist committed to helping families lay the foundation for lifelong well-being through early intervention. As the founder and owner of Rising Lotus Therapy Center in West Palm Beach, Tara specializes in Play Therapy, working with children who have faced profound challenges, including trauma, sexual abuse, grief, loss, and divorce. Her compassionate approach empowers children to heal, grow, and thrive.
Before entering the mental health field, Tara spent 15 years in the nonprofit sector as a fundraiser for leading cultural and social service organizations, including the Norton Museum of Art and United Way of Palm Beach County. These experiences fueled her lifelong commitment to creating meaningful change and building stronger, more inclusive communities.
Tara is a fierce advocate for children and families, and for dismantling systems that exploit vulnerable populations, including human trafficking networks. She currently serves as Chairperson for the Southeast Region of the Florida Association for Play Therapy, where she continues to champion healing, advocacy, and hope.
